2. Knowledge of the department(s) and schedule(s) you'll be scheduling for
3. A basic understanding of: Locations, Roles and Employees
Training Session #1 - How to Build a Schedule
By the end of session #1, you can:
1. Create schedules
2. Create recurring schedules using sessions (if applicable)
3. Create lesson sets using sessions (if applicable)
4. Copy schedules
5. Copy schedules and link shifts
6. Add work assignments
7. Add staff and/or placeholders
8. Add colours and labels to a shift
8. Add a location to a shift
RecStaff schedules are built in 7-day schedules.
If schedules are created for longer than 7 days, weekly hour constraints (for example, overtime rules based on hours worked in a week) may not calculate correctly. For that reason, schedules should always be built in 7-day blocks (or less).
Once you’ve created a week, you can save it as a template schedule and copy it forward for as many weeks as needed.
Click on the help file link in the heading to learn more.
Key Takeaways: Build your 7-day schedule then copy forward and adjust exceptions.
You can make schedules recurring by copying the schedule or by creating a session and defining the session period.

Key Takeaways: Recurring schedules can be created via the copy function or the sessions function.
